Brief Description: Landis User Interface:  A tool to run LANDIS-II scenarios (and view output) in Windows.

The Landis User Interface (LUI) is a stand-alone Windows program providing a convenient user interface for running almost any existing LANDIS-II scenario and viewing many of its outputs.  Initial setup of the Tool is completed from a menu reached by right-clicking on the top item in the left pane (Scenario Files).  The user points the tool to the LANDIS-II (core) executable that should be run and can load or remove scenario files.

Note: this interface does not help you set up LANDIS-II scenarios.  Its purpose it to easily load, edit and run existing scenarios and view the outputs.  The LANDIS-II Core and all extensions called by the scenario(s) must already be installed in your machine.

Load any LANDIS-II scenario that has been previously set up following instructions in the user guides of the extensions that are called from the scenario file.  The LUI then finds and loads all the input files specified in the scenario file and their dependencies, displaying them in the File (left) pane.  These files can be viewed and edited by dragging (and dropping) them into the View (right) pane, selecting the Text (Notepad) viewer option.

The scenario can be running by right-clicking on the scenario filename.  Output files are added to the File pane in real time.  Output files can be viewed by dragging and dropping them into the View pane, selecting the appropriate viewer type (Spreadsheet, Notepad, Graph).  When spreadsheet format files (typically .CSV format) are viewed with Graph, the data are plotted, with each column in a separate tab in the viewer.  Click on a tab to change the variable viewed.  Dropping multiple spreadsheets onto a graph viewer will overlay the graphs, and the legend (color) will appear in the order in which the files were dropped into the viewer.
