The Browse extension simulates browsing impacts by ungulates. Contacts: Brian Miranda, USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station Nathan De Jager, USGS, Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center Latest release: Version 1.0 - Coming soon! (Contact Brian Miranda for installer) Brief Description: The Browse extension
is designed to simulate the removal of biomass from tree cohorts by ungulate
browsers, the concurrent loss of growth and/or mortality, and optionally the
reciprocal feedback between the availability of browse and the population
dynamics of the ungulates. The Browse extension
is designed to run with any succession extensions that carry cohort biomass attributes
(e.g., Biomass Succession, PnET-Succession, Century Succession). However, the beta version is limited
to running with a specialized version of Biomass Succession (vBrowse). If you would like to be a beta tester for the Browse Disturbance extension (using the specific version of Biomass Succession), contact Brian Miranda. We will work with beta testers to identify and resolve any issues before the official release of the extension. |
