Looking at Output

Currently, LANDIS-II produces ERDAS 7.4 raster files with a *.gis file name. These files are easily read by ArcView? and ArcMap?. In addition, the GDAL family of free tools can read and display *.gis files. Other tools have been or are being developed for looking at and analyzing these data (e.g., LandisView?; see the tools section within documentation).

LANDIS-II also produces text files. These are always ascii files. Most of the extension log files are comma delimited and can be read directly into Excel.

Note: We have begun working on LANDIS-II v6.0 which will include native capacity to read/write any raster formats found in GDAL.
